“From the Rising of the Sun Till the Time That It Goes Down"

July 2021-September 2021

Reception August 5, 2021 5pm-8pm

I have always loved the Western landscape. I live in Casper, Wyoming where the air is fresh and clean and the sun shines almost every day. Casper is backed by a mountain and the North Platte River runs through town. Minutes away are cattle ranches, streams, bluffs and prairies. Pastels with their brilliance and depth of color are what I use to capture these beautiful scenes. My husband and kids are avid fisherman but I follow them along the river with an easel and a box of pastels instead of a fishing pole!

After 21 years working as a Floral Designer, I decided to follow my lifelong dream of pursuing an art career. So I went to a community college in Casper and realized art was my life and soul. There I received a Degree in Fine Art and found I love illustration, also. I have written 14 children's books which I am illustrating, and currently have 3 published. "This Skin I'm In" and "Ben and Pirate Moon" were illustrated by me but written by Courtney Crane. "Something's Fishy" and "God Gave Me Everything I Need To Be Me" were both written and illustrated by me. All can be purchased through Amazon.com and BarnesandNoble.com.

As a floral designer, I noticed the artistic way colors weave through flowers. I want to capture these unique changes and hues in my floral designs created with colored pencils. Also, I have painted numerous life-size fiberglass animals for fundraising events in Wyoming and South Dakota. My art hangs in the Wyoming State Capitol and has hung in the Capitol Building in Washington DC.
