"Centered on building a contained space, my work seeks to make a direct connection between area and audience. This connection encourages viewers to draw their own conclusions and to use their own imaginations about how they see themselves in that space, either voyeur or commander. Throughout my work, realism is mixed with flat, graphic color and themes of lush plant life and modern architecture converge to emphasize balance between man’s ability and nature’s will. In my most recent work, I use color and pattern to further push the idea of depth, blending the idea of those contained spaces being repetitive patterns themselves."
